The 53-year-old actress faced a backlash last month amid protests across the country.
A website apologized Monday after falsely claiming that soap star Melissa Reeves had been fired from “Days of Our Lives” in the wake of a controversy on Black Lives Matter.
The recently deleted erroneous story titled:
“Melissa Reeves, ‘Days of our Lives’ dismissed in the Wake of Anti-Black Lives Matter controversy'”
It was initially published by entertainment site TVLine and later by Yahoo, leading many to falsely believe that The Star soap was finished.
Now, the media claims that the actress is still employed in the long-running soap series.
Due to a technical error, a story was briefly posted on TVLine on Monday night, and has since appeared in several of our partner feeds, notably Yahoo, which mistakenly claims that ‘Days of Our Lives’ has fired Melissa. Reeves. The story is false. Melissa Reeves has not been fired from ‘Days of Our Lives’. In the meantime, we apologize for the error, ”wrote TVLine on Tuesday.
Last month, Reeves, 53, faced a backlash from fans for liking anti-Black Lives Matter posts online amid protests across the country following the death of George Floyd.
